Just returned from a wonderful adventure to the beautiful Island of San Antioco, Sardinia. After settling into the lovely apartment high on a hill over looking the little town and sea, I met the other ten European artists from Portugal. Czech Republic, Belgium, Norway, Italy and France. Then the weeks events kicked off with musical performances on the stage in the town centre, we were then interviewed on stage to introduce our work and country. The following three days were spent painting under the specially constructed Gazebos on one of the Islands idyllic beaches, crowded by Italian beach goers and art enthusiasts we all painted and chatted and swam to cool us down. I met some wonderful people and enjoyed all the hospitality provided, Sardinian , what a week!! After tv interviews and a final farewell party all paintings produced during the week were auctioned off to raise money for AVAST a local charity and many of volunteers were involved in running the event and hosting the invited artists.
I have been invited to participate in 'Colour Island' Sant' Antioco , Sardinia , where I will be painting for a week with other artists from across Europe.

Diageo Whisky Specialist Commission
I was commissioned by Diageo Whisky Specialists to paint a landscape which represented the blends in Johnnie Walker Red Label and a painting to represent Johnnie Walker Black Label. The company has a blending room where guests watch and taste the blending process. The paintings are to aid the whisky specialist in explaining the process of whisky blending to an audience. This painting for Johhnie Walker Black Label represents the more classic flavours and it is a more subtle blend, no one flavour is prominent. Hopefully the painting will help ignite conversation!

One of the Paintings commissioned by the Rayapoor's for their London Cafe.
Another happy client! I was commissioned by the lovely Mr Rayapoor and his sister to paint four pieces for their Cafe in Richmond, London. They were wonderful to work with and I was able to produce four very different paintings. They were framed in a dark wood to match the shop interior. Many thanks and look forward to visiting the Cafe! More photos to follow!
This year my painting, 'A Little Escape' was awarded the Blythswood Square Quaich at the Lillie Gallery in Milngavie. The GSWA annual exhibition is on until the end of October and there is a lovely selection of paintings from many of the GSWA artists, well worth a visit!
Like Buses commissions always seem to come at once! Always a great challenge to paint for a customer and hopefully come up with something they hoped for! This week I have been approached by three different customers to commission a painting. Lets hope the creative juices are flowing!

Delighted to have been elected as Vice President of Glasgow Society of Women Artists. Originally established in 1882 by eight of the first women students at the Glasgow School of Art, the GLASGOW SOCIETY OF LADY ARTISTS flourished until 1971 when sadly it was disbanded due to financial pressures. However it was revived in 1975 as the GLASGOW SOCIETY OF WOMEN ARTISTS and currently enjoys a membership of around 151 artists and 57 lay members.

Just returned from a sun soaked trip to Mull where we visited colour filled Tobermory in our new campervan. I returned to my favourite Island; Staffa, where I was delighted to watch a flurry of Puffins zooming in and out of their burrows with freshly caught fish. Then I spent hours fishing in Iona's tranquil waters with my four year old son Keir. For crystal waters and silky white beaches, Iona is a dream location and I can't wait to get back and capture it on canvas!

I have just returned from the Great Gulf Arts Festival in Pensacola (Florida) and had a fantastic time giving demonstrations, lectures and exhibiting my work at the exhibition. It was an amazing event attracting over 150, 000 visitors and an array of talented artist exhibiting their work. The committee treated me like a celebrity and I was welcomed off the aeroplane to a champagne reception on a limo style party bus! I met the Mayor of Pensacola, judged the most incredible Halloween costume party at Seville square, saw the Blue Angel jets air show from the top of a lighthouse and enjoyed the beautiful white sands and lagoon waters of Pensacola. It was an unforgettable experience and superb exposure, with newspaper photos and radio adverts. Now back to the clouds of Scotland after three weeks of blue sky!
Please come along to the Concept Art Gallery in Bearsden, Schaw Lodge , 14 Drymen rd G61 3SG. It is an open weekend Saturday and Sunday. For full collection please visit http://www.concept-art.co.uk/
Just returned from another trip to Orkney, one glorious day of sun, trekked across to the Brough of Birsay, we found a secret cave and then watched a people got soaked returning from the Island as the tide was coming in over the pathway.
Waves were not as impressive as usual, but the sunset was mesmerising. The following few days offered either heavy showers or sea haar so the views were pretty washed out. However this in turn gave me plenty of inspiring clouds , full of colour and often with a hurricane like appearance.
I have just completed my first and possibly last outdoor mural at my son's nursery school. Through wind , rain and hail stones I battled to complete a painting of little group of shops for the nursery children to role play with,, they can even draw on the little blackboards painted in front of the shops. It was great to have lots of spectators throughout the few weeks of painting and the children all seem to love it. So thanks for a great challenge and I hope it continues to withstand the ever changing Scottish weather!!!
Please join us from 6pm onwards on the 4th of May at the Flaubert Gallery for the opening of a joint show of work by myself and Amy Marshall. The exhibition runs until the 16th of May and features a range of impressions of the Scottish Landscape.

I have been asked to paint an Orang-utan to raise money for the animal welfare charity, Elephant Family. The project is called Jungle in the City. My concept was based on the idea that my Orang-utan has travelled to Scotland to find a new habitat for his family, as he travels around Scotland he sends postcards home with images of Scotland. My idea incorporates my paintings, which I painted across the entire body of the sculpture which was pretty tricky! Keir my son enjoyed the new house mate!
The aim of the Jungle City project is to raise both money and awareness for the conservation of the endangered species.
Each animal will be sponsored and decorated before being placed around Edinburgh. After two months, they will be gathered together and auctioned off to raise £1m for the charity.
Spent a fun few days hanging an array of paintings at the Glasgow Art Club on behalf of the GSWA. The show opens on Fri 3rd and is worth a visit to view an eclectic mix of exciting paintings, textiles, jewellery and sculpture.
